Why pH Balance in cleansers matters

We always hear or see the word “pH” on your cleanser  — but does it matter for your skin? Yes. It matters. pH stands for “potential of hydrogen.” It measures how acidic or alkaline something is, on a scale of 0 to 14.

(The pH scale is a measure of how acidic or basic a substance is.)

So why it matters?

Your skin naturally sits between 4.5 and 5.5 — slightly acidic. That acidity keeps your skin barrier strong, healthy, and

protected from bacteria, pollution, and moisture loss. But here’s the catch: Many cleansers are too alkaline, like

traditional soaps, which can strip your skin, leaving it dry, tight, or sensitive.

(Skin’s ideal pH is 4.5–5.5; any shift weakens your barrier, causing dryness and sensitivity. )

pH-balanced cleanser = happier skin!

A pH-balanced cleanser, like DermaHydra Cleanser, respects your skin’s natural acid mantle. It cleans without stripping, keeps your microbiome intact, and leaves skin feeling balanced — not bare.

So next time, choose cleanser with close-to-skin pH and cleanse our face skin better!
